|Entry to the art competition Modernization of the Federal Social Court, Kassel, 2007. The federation becomes a village. Courtroom furniture made of stainless steel and concrete is installed outdoors in the leafy forecourt of the building, so that it mimics a village court situation. This original collective form is a metaphor for the focus of the court: the social, the insurance of the existence of every individual in the community. The installation is integrated into the landscape, but now and again it unexpectedly interrupts the casual perception of the park. The installation thematizes the relationship between inside and outside. It makes a connection: from the building and its function to the public sphere and the public.||
Associations with the village court: in its original function, to settle
disputes between members of a society,
it radiates simplicity, immediacy, and intimacy.
